HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Hinton man is facing multiple drug-related charges after deputies say they uncovered a large clandestine laboratory used to manufacture psychedelic substances inside his home.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Summers County, a confidential informant came to the Summers County Sheriff’s Department on October 20, 2025, and provided several photographs allegedly showing a drug lab.
The informant told investigators that the lab was operated by Douglas Berkshire and was being used to manufacture psychedelic mushrooms and Dimethyltryptamine, commonly known as DMT.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for Berkshire’s residence on Pleasant Street in Hinton. When law enforcement executed the warrant, they made contact with Berkshire.
