SMU's Rhett Lashlee linked to high-profile coaching vacancies by ESPN analyst

SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee has only been in his position since 2021, but in that short time — paired with a conference change and a College Football Playoff berth — he has stood out across the country.

Lashlee’s background includes stints at Arkansas, Auburn, Samford, UConn and, most recently, as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Miami under head coach Manny Diaz. Returning to the Hilltop marked his second stint at SMU; he previously served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2018 to 2019 before heading to Miami.
