A 17-year-old girl suffered minor injuries and a home was significantly damaged after a 2025 Tesla the teen was driving left the roadway, crashing into a residence Sunday evening in Jericho, police said.
Police said two occupants of the residence were home at the time, but were not injured. However, police said a subsequent assessment of the damage by an inspector from the Town of Oyster Bay Building Department determined the home was "structurally unsafe."
The teen was westbound on Orange Drive in her 2025 Tesla when she left the roadway at the T-shaped intersection of Orange Drive and Onondaga at about 9:40 p.m. and crashed into the home, police said. The teen, whose identity was not released, suffered "a minor injury" in the crash, according to police, but refused medical attention.
