Staff and volunteers at the BC Forest Discovery Centre are shocked and saddened following the left of lights that help decorate the property during special events.
On Saturday night, thieves broke into the BC Forest Discovery Centre and stole a significant number of decorative lights and extension cords. The theft targeted the Ranger Station lighting display along the Trans-Canada Highway, a key part of the Centre’s seasonal setup.
“As a non-profit facility, we really cannot afford to have items stolen,” said Carol Miller, manager of the BC Forest Discovery Centre. “Having thieves take all the Ranger Station lighting and extension cords has shocked our staff and volunteers, who dedicate long hours to creating a magical experience for the community.”
