TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s Something Good when everyone has equal opportunities to participate in the sports they want.
That’s exactly what some Valley residents got when Ability360 , a Phoenix-based nonprofit made to support those with disabilities, received a new six-person outrigger canoe, thanks to a $26,000 grant from The Hartford .
The new boat will give the organization’s outrigger canoe team a competitive edge and help foster confidence and community, according to organization members.
Along with the outrigger canoe club, Ability360 offers several activities to empower people with disabilities, including personal training, wheelchair basketball, football, curling, adaptive golf and more .
