The Calgary Flames weren’t able to pick up a win on Monday night, but their fanbase still had plenty to cheer for.
As the Flames were in action versus the Winnipeg Jets, the Toronto Blue Jays were fighting to win the AL Pennant versus the Seattle Mariners.
Everybody in the Saddledome was dialled in on the action, with updates from the game being shown during stoppages on the Jumbotron. That included showing George Springer’s three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, which resulted in a roaring ovation from Flames fans.
Springer’s home run wound up being enough, as the Blue Jays were able to keep the Mariners off the board in the final two innings thanks to some outstanding pitching from Chris Bassitt and Jeff Hoffman.
After learning that the Jays were headed to their first Wo
