BEDFORD — A two-vehicle crash involving a Bedford Police Department vehicle responding to a call occurred on Tuesday, October 21st, at US 50 and 18th Street in Bedford.
The incident, which happened at approximately 8:31 a.m., involved an emergency vehicle operating its lights and sirens.
The crash, classified as a right-angle collision, resulted in three non-fatal injuries and an estimated damage cost between $25,001 and $50,000. Jackson’s Heavy Haul towed both vehicles from the scene.
The crash involved a City of Bedford Police 2023 Dodge Durango driven by Captain Nicholas ‘Drew’ Lemke and a 2022 GMC Acadia driven by Kagahn D. Whyte, 30, of Bedford. Captain Lemke, 36, was responding to an emergency call at the time of the crash and had the vehicle’s lights and sirens activated.
