Sky watchers may be in with a chance of spotting a comet in UK skies in the coming week.
Comet Lemmon - otherwise known officially as C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) - can mostly be found in the very distant outer Solar System, far beyond the orbit of Neptune. However, it will soon be making its way into the inner Solar System, possibly giving sky gazers the chance to see it with the naked eye.
After only being discovered in January at the Mount Lemmon Survey, in Arizona, the comet is a relatively new find discovery for astronomers.
But it is now making exciting news for sky watchers as astronomers believe it may be bright enough to be seen with a pair of binoculars, or even with the naked-eye.
