The Angels are set to name former big league catcher Kurt Suzuki their next manager, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Tuesday. The club has not confirmed the news.

The 42-year-old Suzuki, who has been a special assistant to GM Perry Minasian for the past three years, will beat out a field of candidates that also included legendary slugger Albert Pujols, former Angels outfielder Torii Hunter, Rangers special assistant Nick Hundley, Cubs bench coach Ryan Flaherty, former Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, and former Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, according to reports.
