FRANKFORT — Funding for Kentucky’s senior meal program has been restored following weeks of discussion among state officials and lawmakers after concerns arose over a potential shortfall that would have placed seniors back on waiting lists for hot meals.

According to an announcement from the Kentucky Senate Republicans, the State Budget Director John Hicks approved a transfer of $9.1 million to the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services to address the immediate funding gap and allow local providers to resume services.
