A woman used to wonder why her rescue dog always ran for the bushes when he was scared, until a heartbreaking realization changed everything.

Bianca Polizzi and her boyfriend Logan Collins already had a dog, their one-eyed rescue Ekko, when they were contacted by an animal rescue in Bali , where they live, with an urgent request to foster a badly traumatized puppy.

"He had been abandoned in a wilderness area with his siblings. That's where he was found," Polizzi told Newsweek . "He had no fur [when he was found] and was having a really hard time being handled."
