PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- The South Carolina Department of Transportation has closed Riggins Bridge Road over Twelve Mile Creek in Pickens County for repairs following a routine inspection.

The closure of Riggins Bridge Road was initiated after a routine inspection revealed the need for repairs. As a result, officials said the bridge will remain closed until the necessary repairs can be completed.

A detour route has been established to accommodate eastbound and westbound traffic.

For eastbound traffic, motorists are directed to take Bolding Road South, turn left onto Praters Creek Road, then left onto Stewart Gin Road, and finally left onto Gilstrap Road to return to Riggins Bridge Road.

Westbound traffic will be directed to take Gilstrap Road South, turn right onto Stewart Gin Ro
