CLINTON, N.Y. — A town man who took part in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots and was later pardoned by President Donald Trump was arrested Saturday for threatening to “eliminate” U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-Brooklyn, according to authorities.

Jeffries is the minority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Christopher Moynihan, 34, was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, by state police and charged with felony of making a terroristic threat. In a press release, state police said they were advised by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force that Moynihan “had made threats to kill a member of Congress.”
