South Carolina’s measles outbreak is now at 20, even as some unvaccinated students who have been quarantining return to their schools, the Department of Public Health announced Oct. 21 .

The four new cases since Oct. 17 are split between students who have been quarantining at home since the outbreak began at two Spartanburg County schools and two others associated with a Spartanburg business “with no public exposures,” the department said in a news release. It did not identify the business.

All four were connected with the current outbreak that began at Fairforest Elementary and Global Academy of South Carolina schools first identified on Oct. 2. A previous positive case in Greenville County associated with a gym has also now been connected to the outbreak, public health confirmed.
