SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Four additional measles cases have been confirmed in Spartanburg County, according to state health officials.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health said two of the new cases are close contacts to known cases who have been quarantining at home. Officials said they were not present at any school settings while contagious.

The other two cases were associated with a business in Spartanburg and SCDPH said there were no public exposures.

The new cases brings the total number of cases in the Upstate to 23 since July.

Officials said the current outbreak is now up to 20 cases after a previously identified case involving a child at a gym in Greenville County is now being associated with the outbreak due to "ongoing unrecognized community transmission."
