The NBA regular season tips off Tuesday, but it doesn’t sound like Robert Williams III will suit up for the Trail Blazers. The big man revealed a few weeks ago during Portland’s media day that he wasn’t cleared for full contact yet.
However, Blazers coach Chauncey Billups had a positive injury update, saying Williams practiced Monday. He wasn’t sure about his availability for opening night as the Blazers host the Timberwolves on Wednesday. Still, it’s a positive sign that Williams practiced and was on the court.
