The family of a girl seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into her Center Line home last week is planning to sue the driver, their attorney said.
"The lawsuit remains 'anticipated,'" said David Femminineo, managing partner of Mount Clemens law firm Femminineo Law and the family's attorney. "We are unable to file it yet because the formal police report has not been released. Additionally, the blood test results have not come back from the police lab."
A car driven by a Detroit woman plowed through a home in the area of MacArthur Boulevard and O'Hare Street in Center Line at about 3 a.m. on Oct. 13, according to authorities. The impact threw a sleeping 9-year-old girl out of a window and onto the yard, officials said.
Media reports identified the girl as Laila Breitshtrus.
