WEST VALLEY CITY — An investigation is underway in West Valley City where a car crashed into a meeting house of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3120 W. 4700 S. on Sunday night.

Police did not comment on the situation until Monday morning, but KSL TV was on scene Sunday night, and observed people coming out of the church with their hands behind their back. Photographers also saw a lot of liquid on the ground, but said it was unclear where the liquid was coming from.

The following morning, Public Information Officer Roxeanne Vainuku said a couple had been arguing inside the car just before the crash. While the woman sat in the passenger seat, the man was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Vainuku said, and crashed into the church building during the argumen
