Voters in two Siskiyou County towns will decide the outcome of two local measures when they cast their ballot in the Nov. 4 California special election.

Measure D asks Dunsmuir voters to raise their sales tax when a lower previous tax hike expires in March.

Measure C asks Grenada voters to maintain the current cap on their fire protection district’s annual spending.

A yes vote passes either measure. A no vote rejects each, and results in lost revenue the city or fire district currently receives, according to supporters.

Measures C and D both require a simple majority — meaning they must garner 50% of the vote plus one vote — to pass, said Siskiyou County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Laura Bynum.
