PROVIDENCE – Kimberly Ahern has resigned as chair of the three-person Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission , setting the stage for a potential run for attorney general.
A 2023 appointee by Gov. Dan McKee, Ahern has been the first and only chair of the commission created by lawmakers to regulate and oversee the legalization and sale of marijuana for recreational use.
