NEW YORK, N.Y. – A defendant from the January 6th Capitol riot has been arrested for making credible death threats against Hakeem Jeffries, leader of the House Democratic Caucus.

According to Jeffries' office, the man was one of many convicted as rioters during the January 6th insurrection. President Donald Trump, on his first day in office, pardoned these individuals.

Christopher Moynihan , 34, was charged with the felony count of making a terroristic threat according to New York State Police. He pled not guilty in February 2023.

Moynihan was sentenced to 21 months in prison for his actions at the Capitol.
