The Miners girls soccer team had won 17-straight games heading into Monday’s matchup with top-ranked Ridgeline. Park City would meet their match, falling 5-3 in the contest, which was held at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
The Miners opened up the scoring against Ridgeline with an Elsa Dellenbach goal. Dellenbach had the 12th most points in 4A this season with 41. Ridgeline roared back, scoring three goals before halftime and another after.
Park City displayed the heart of their team in the second half, closing the gap to a 4-3 deficit. Ridgeline scored once more as the Miners sought the equalizer. Dellenback scored one of the two second-half goals, with Dyllann Reed scoring the other. Ashtyn Holder, Riley Reese and Lila Buchnowski assisted on the Park City goals.
