A light earthquake rattled parts of southern Vancouver Island Tuesday morning.

Earthquakes Canada says the magnitude-3.1 quake hit approximately 37 kilometres north of Victoria just after 5:30 a.m.

The agency says it has received of 96 total reports that the quake was ‘lightly’ or ‘weakly’ felt along the Saanich Peninsula.

Emergency Info BC says no damage has been reported.

Tuesday’s was the second recorded earthquake in B.C. this month, including a magnitude-3.3 event near Squamish.
