Seattle police officers arrested a 46-year-old man for robbery and assaulting a security guard after stealing multiple items from a South Seattle grocery store.

On Oct. 20, at about 3:15 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shoplifter using mace on security at a grocery store in the 3800 block of Rainier Avenue South. There, officers found the victim, suffering from the after-effects of pepper spray. They also found the masked, would-be thief in the store’s entryway, seemingly unconscious.

The Seattle Fire Department responded to evaluate the involved parties, both treated for minor injuries.
