Main line leak prompts boil water notice in Rusk, Texas

RUSK, Texas (KETK) -- Rusk Rural Water Supply Company (RRWSC) has issued a boil water notice to several areas due to a main line leak.

Due to the leak, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the RRWSC to notify all customers in the following areas to boil their water prior to consumption: • FM 1248 • CR 2102 • CR 2103 • CR 2107 • CR 2109 • CR 2110 • CR 2111 • CR 2115 • CR 2117 • CR 2118 • CR 2119 • CR 2120 • CR 2121 • CR 2201 • CR 2202 • CR 2224 • CR 2217 (only some customers affected off of FM 1248 side)

Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should bring water to a rolling boil for two minutes.
