An Adams County middle school employee was escorted off the premises Tuesday morning after they were found intoxicated with two guns in their car, district officials said.

Littlestown police found the guns and the drunk employee while performing a wellness check at Maple Avenue Middle School, according to a statement posted on the Littlestown Area School District’s website .

Police escorted the employee off the property, and they will not be returning to work, the district said.

“While this staff member’s actions are intolerable, at no time do we believe any students were under an imminent risk of harm, nor were any threats made,” the district wrote on its website. “The District will continue to cooperate with law enforcement to protect the safety and security of our school community.
