Pays homage to martyrs, highlights daily anti-terror action
Srinagar, Oct 21: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, said on Tuesday that the presence of foreign terrorists in Jammu’s dense forests remains a significant challenge; efforts are underway to neutralise them.
Addressing media persons after leading wreath-laying ceremonies at the Police Martyrs Memorial near Jammu railway station and at Gulshan Ground in the police headquarters, IGP paid tributes to brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the nation on Police Commemoration Day.
“The day marks the supreme sacrifice of 10 CRPF personnel in an ambush by heavily armed Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, in 1959, at an altitude of 4,681 meters,” he said.
