A Greater Victoria high school teacher was handed a three-day suspension for inappropriately touching students and making sexualized comments over the 2022 and 2023 school years.

In an agreement posted Tuesday, the BC Commissioner for Teacher Regulation said that English teacher Shadrick Cain made “unnecessary and unwelcome physical contact” with two students over those two years.

In the 2021/2022 school year, the BCCTR says Cain had inappropriate contact with a student while they were in Grade 10.

“Specifically, Cain touched Student A’s shoulder on two occasions and on three occasions, approached Student A from behind when Student A was in the library, and leaned over Student A to look at Student A’s work,” reads the agreement. “In doing so, Cain’s face was within six inches of Student
