Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced Wednesday that her office led Mississippi’s role in a national human trafficking operation spanning 15 states and involving 150+ law enforcement agencies. In Jackson, the effort resulted in one felony arrest and the recovery of six victims, according to the AG’s Office.
“Human trafficking is not confined by state borders and our response shouldn’t be either,” Fitch said, emphasizing partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies.
The sweep—Operation Coast to Coast—was initiated in 2024 by the Human Trafficking Training Center (HTTC) to coordinate nationwide enforcement. The 2025 multi-state push occurred October 16, 2025, yielding 34 arrests and 68 victim recoveries nationwide.
