LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Good Life Halfsy on Tuesday announced record-breaking participation numbers for this year’s event.

Organizers said 9,000 people registered for the 12th annual run, which is a 25% increase from last year’s 7,100 registrants.

Officials noted that “strong word-of-mouth” momentum and a “surge” in sign-ups from local and regional run clubs led to the jump in participation.

“Runners keep telling their friends, and their friends bring their run clubs,” said Ben Cohoon, Good Life Halfsy co-director, in a press release. “That groundswell of support this year will enjoy a net-downhill course that feels fast and celebratory. It’s a recipe for PRs, first-time finishers, and a signature event that people can plan their training around.”
