LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is facing a slew of felony charges after being caught with drugs and a loaded gun in north Lincoln, court documents say.

Around 3 a.m., an officer spotted a vehicle in a parking lot near 26th and N streets. It was parked adjacent to a liquor store and is a “known after-party area,” according to an arrest affidavit.

The officer approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, 29-year-old Eric Abney, and the passenger.

The affidavit said the officer smelled marijuana, leading to a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Inside the driver-side door, the officer found three bags containing a “white residue consistent with cocaine,” according to the affidavit.
