Weeks after Luxembourg witnessed the historic change of throne , the royal family has welcomed a new member.

Princess Alexandra, who is the younger sister of the new Grand Duke Guillaume , gave birth to a son on Friday.

The new baby has been named Hélie.

The baby is the second child for Princess Alexandra and her husband, Nicolas Bagory, following the birth of their daughter Victoire, born in May 2024.

The Grand Ducal Court announced the baby's arrival on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT). No photos have been shared as yet.

Princess Alexandra, 34, is the fourth child and only daughter of former Grand Duke Henri and his wife Maria Teresa.

Following her father's abdication on October 3, she moved up to seventh in line to the throne.
