WELLFORD, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office reports a Wellford man pleaded guilty to child abuse charges on Monday following his arrest in 2022.

The solicitor’s office said 28-year-old Ian Tatro abused his 8-year-old daughter by giving her animal feces as a Christmas gift, making her stand in the garbage can for hours while trash was thrown on her, repeatedly hitting her with a cutting board, force-feeding her laxatives, restricting her from using the bathroom and making her wear a diaper.

The victim was one of four children taken into emergency protective custody with DSS, and she spent two days in the hospital, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
