YOUNGSTOWN A Struthers intersection that was supposed to reopen Thursday has been extended by one day.

Struthers Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller tells 21 News the intersection of State Street and Bridge Street, which was originally set to be closed through Thursday, October 23, has been extended through Friday, October 24.

Miller says the extension was due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The closure is part of Aqua's water main replacement project in the City of Struthers, which includes the replacement of the water main underneath the Bridge Street railroad crossing.

Traffic on State Street and Bridge Street south of the railroad crossing, as well as access to nearby businesses, will be maintained.
