Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear addressed speculation that he's mulling a 2028 presidential run.

He said it's something he and his family will consider if they feel he's the best candidate to "heal the country."

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear told reporters a presidential run is something he and his family will "consider" if they feel he's the best candidate for the job in 2028.

He addressed the speculation at an event with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine at the University of Cincinnati's Portman Center for Policy Solutions on Oct. 21.

Beshear, a Democrat, said he's currently focused on bringing people together "by focusing on common sense, common ground and getting things done."

Next year, he said he'll also prioritize being the head of the Democratic Governors Association.
