CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Why do some people think it’s OK to reuse a butter knife, leaving crumbs in the butter or container?

My husband and daughter are constant offenders with this nasty habit. No matter how many times I say something, they just roll their eyes. My husband thinks I make too big a deal out of it.

“It’s just crumbs,” he says. That’s exactly my point. Crumbs don’t belong in the butter.

Am I wrong to think that you shouldn’t put a dirty knife back in the butter or margarine container? I’ve even seen friends and family do this in restaurants.
