ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. — The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the mass shooting that occurred at Willie’s Bar & Grill on St. Helena on Oct. 12.

The agency said Tuesday that evidence is still being analyzed and there is no new information to provide at this time. However, the case is still ongoing.

Gunshots after traffic stop spur huge law enforcement response

A gunshot was fired after a traffic stop, spurring a huge law enforcement response. In the end, authorities think the shot wasn’t fired by the suspect but by a neighbor.

Authorities urge community members to come forward with any information.

“We appreciate the assistance from the FBI who set up a digital media tips website specifically for this tragic shooting,” the agency said.
