Banana Ball slipped away, but Cosmic Baseball — complete with neon uniforms and glow-in-the-dark effects — debuts at Harbor Park in Norfolk on June 6, the Norfolk Tides announced Tuesday.

The event, billed as “an electrifying, glow-in-the-dark twist” on baseball, features two “professional” Cosmic teams: the Cosmic Chili Peppers and the Glow Mojis. The teams, based in Colonial Heights, Virginia, play in neon uniforms with UV-reactive baseballs and have been featured on The Today Show, ABC News and the MLB Network.

Tuesday’s announcement came a few weeks after Harbor Park was left off the Savannah Bananas‘ 2026 schedule. The Bananas sold out six events at 12,000-seat Harbor Park during the summers of 2024 and 2025, but the Bananas and their Harlem Globetrotter-like antics, dubbed “Banana
