The results of Monday evening’s municipal election are slowly coming in — but for the two local political parties in Edmonton, the initial results are not looking as promising as they’d hoped.

Better Edmonton and the Principled Accountable Coalition of Edmonton (PACE) are the two local parties in the city present in the 2025 municipal election.

Doug Main, co-founder and director of PACE, said the initial results have been disappointing for the party. While Main said the party wasn’t expecting all nine candidates to get in, he thought that some of PACE’s candidates had a strong shot.

“We thought we had a really good chance in two, perhaps three wards. Turns out to not be the case. So that is disappointing,” Main said.
