FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KDVR) — A Fort Collins lab is using technology to get ahead of dangerous drugs infiltrating Colorado communities.

Porch Light Health’s Toxicology and Drug Testing Lab let FOX31 inside to see how teams discover what’s getting into people’s systems and how the data is helping the greater community.

From machines spinning urine samples at 4,200 RPM, to technology with pumps and filters that break drugs down in people's bodies, employees at Rocky Mountain Clinic’s Advanced Laboratory Solutions explained how they are able to detect drugs in urine with amounts as small as five nanograms, the equivalent of a grain of salt.
