EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Prosecutors have dropped charges against the two men arrested for fighting during welcome week in East Lansing.

The alleged brawl happened in August during Michigan State University’s welcome week.

The weekend saw multiple arrests, including for a fight on Sunday Aug. 24.

Lonnie Smith, 21, from Okemos, and Mason Woods, 22, from East Lansing were charged for fighting on Albert Avenue in East Lansing.

Smith was charged with disorderly conduct by fighting. Woods was charged with fighting in a public space and resisting arrest. Both had their charges dropped on Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to court documents.
