RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Washoe County Commissioner Alexis Hill has launched an effort to stop the implementation of movie tax credits during the next legislative session.
Her campaign for Governor is running digital ads against the tax credits and has launched a petition in opposition.
An effort to offer up to $95 million in tax credits to Sony and Warner Bros Discovery failed earlier this year amid efforts to draw the industry to the Las Vegas area.
“There are better ways to create jobs,” said Hill. “This corporate welfare doesn’t work, and my campaign for governor is about ending these giveaways.
