An associate professor at the University of Central Florida was arrested and charged with battery and trespassing Tuesday, according to the Oviedo Police Department.

According to a report from the OPD, officers were notified of an altercation that began near the Oviedo Aquatic Center and found Shuo Sean Pang, 41, involved in an argument with minors.

One of the minors told officers that he was riding his bike to school when Pang followed him onto Jackson Heights Middle School property from the Aquatic Center. According to the police affidavit, Pang pulled his arm and "smacked his helmet off his head."

Another student and parent witnessed the altercation occur and stepped in in an attempt to separate the two.

School staff arrived shortly after and de-escalated the situation.
