Two people died in a two-vehicle crash in Weld County on Monday afternoon.

At about 3:09 p.m. dispatch received a call reporting that two vehicles, a Toyota Highlander and a Chevy 2500 truck, had crashed at Weld County Roads 19 and 24, according to Katie Hansen, the spokesperson for the town of Firestone.

Two people from the same vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, Hansen said. It was not immediately clear which vehicle the two fatalities were in or if occupants of the other vehicle were injured.

County roads in the area were closed for multiple hours while police responded to and investigated the crash.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
