The search for victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre continued Monday after archaeologists uncovered 24 new graves at Oaklawn Cemetery.

New Discoveries at Oaklawn

The City of Tulsa confirmed that the graves were found on the west side of Section 20. Of the newly discovered graves, 21 appear to be adult-sized.

Experts say some graves could be exhumed as early as this week, depending on their condition and whether they meet the criteria researchers are seeking.

Forensic Testing Ongoing

So far, there is no confirmed link between the new graves and the 1921 Race Massacre. Forensic testing continues as scientists work to determine if any of the remains are connected to the historic tragedy.
