DENVER (KDVR) — The Parker Police Department shot and killed a gas station employee on Monday night while investigating reports of shots fired in the area, according to a press release from the Parker Police Department on Tuesday.

Officers responded to multiple reports from residents of shots being fired near the area of Mainstreet and Jordan Road around 10:20 p.m. on Monday.

After three minutes, the officers arrived at the location and found spent shell casings and live ammunition in the parking lot of the T Square gas station located on Mainstreet.

Police spoke to an employee of the gas station, with the press release describing the man as someone "who initially presented himself as a witness to the shots-fired call."
