A teenage boy was killed Tuesday afternoon in a shooting in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the city’s West Side, Chicago police said.

The boy, 16, was gunned down while standing in the 4100 block of West End Avenue around 2:30 p.m., police said. Authorities said he was struck by multiple gunshots, but provided no additional details about the shooting. No other injuries were reported.

The teen, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

No arrests had been made as Harrison Area detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
