Corus Entertainment’s lawyers addressed former Q107 radio show host Jennifer Valentyne's human rights complaint against the company for the first time during cross examination on Tuesday.

The defence team suggested Valentyne's treatment was due to frustrations with her work performance rather than her gender.

Cross-examination lasted all day and is expected to continue into Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier this month, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal heard that Valentyne, who co-hosted Q Q107's from 2017 to 2019, was bullied, yelled at and excluded from important conversations by her co-hosts. Valentyne claims the treatment was due to the fact that she is a woman, alleging male colleagues were not treated the same way.
