Paul George‘s 16th NBA season is not off to a positive start.

The star forward has been ruled out for the Philadelphia 76ers‘ season-opener against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday due to a knee injury, the team announced.

George, 35, is considered day-to-day as he recovers from off-season arthroscopic knee surgery. Fortunately for fans in Philly, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the nine-time all-star is making “significant progress” following his procedure in July and a season debut should come “shortly into the regular season.”
