There are a number of things that will need to get unpacked from what was a very strange election day — OK, two days, maybe three — in Edmonton.
• The low voter turnout of barely 30 per cent, the second worst figure in the last 45 years.
• The huge numbers of undecided voters in the final days before Oct. 20 — according to polls anyway — indicating a lack of enthusiasm about any of the contenders.
• The fact that the next mayor, Andrew Knack, is one of the few in Edmonton’s history to win with less than 40 per cent of the vote (probably).

• The long delays at some polling stations that may have turned people away from voting. And the even longer delays to post the counts.
